5D4N Diving @Minahasa Lagoon Resort & Spa,
with Eco Divers, Manado, Indonesia
The Minahasa Lagoon boasts 15 cottages (each with 2 to 4 beds), a swimming pool, 2 restaurants, a diving center, and various boats more than 10 meters long and private buses. Since ancient times, the local inhabitants have called this place “Mangatasik” which literally means ”a beauty which leaves you open-mouthed.” And that is how we want it to stay.

Garden-view Cottage is set within a lush tropical garden
At Minahasa Lagoon every comfortable and air-conditioned bungalow has its own veranda overlooking the sea so that the surrounding views can be fully appreciated.

Diving with Eco Divers
North Sulawesi is home to countless colourful and rare marine creatures. Visit over 140 uncrowded sites teeming with more than 1000 marine species, dive in warm waters on precipitous walls, explore the best muck diving in the world and discover a huge variety of camouflaged critters.
Jim & Cary Yanny operate successful dive centres at Tasik Ria Resort and Kungkungan Bay Resort and are more than ably assisted by a dedicated, professional, multilingual team. With more than 30 years of diving experience between them, Jim and Cary are also co-owners of award-winning Emperor Divers in the Red Sea. Cary was the Executive Director of Hurghada Environmental Protection & Conservation (HEPCA), which still operates to ensure Red Sea environmental awareness.
“We aim to provide the best quality service possible so that people can enjoy this very special underwater world, whilst always making sure that divers are happy, safe and environmentally aware,” says Jim.
Eco Divers is a PADI 5 Star Gold Palm IDC Resort. Our top-quality service focuses on personal attention, safety, comfort and environmental responsibility. We understand that diving is your holiday as well as your hobby, so we aim to take care of ALL arrangements from the moment you land to the moment you leave – so you can just relax! But, even more than that, we also enjoy life and sharing some special moments with our guests. We love what we do and we hope you will come and share in our special atmosphere!
We have been diving Bunaken National Park since 2001, operating out of Tasik Ria Resort in Manado. In 2004 we added a new base at Kungkungan Bay Resort, allowing us to offer diving in the Lembeh Strait. By having dive centres in both Manado and Lembeh, we are able to provide our guests with the chance to dive two completely different, and equally wonderful, environments; the dramatic and beautiful drop-offs of Bunaken and the fascinating, critter-rich volcanic sands of Lembeh. Each resort is upscale, in an exotic location and offering clean, comfortable accommodation, good food, friendly staff and many facilities to spoil you on your holiday. Come and experience this fantastic diving combination – it is unbeatable!
Eco Divers is home to The Digital Centre, North Sulawesi’s first dedicated photography and videography center, providing full support to our guests who take photos, in terms of rentals, sales, courses, workshops, souvenirs and group videos. We run regular photography ‘shoot-out’ competitions.

Minahasa Lagoon Resort
Both the exterior of the buildings and the interior furnishings are made from the excellent wood from the nearby Molucca Islands. The typical stones of the area have been used for fittings, bridges, and protection so that the resort is in perfect harmony with the surrounding atmosphere.

Beach Cottages sits on a coralline black sand beach
All the cottages have been built in the typical architectural style of the region. Besides the central restaurant, where the finest international cuisine is served along side tasty local specialties, there is the charming jungle restaurant immersed in the vegetation and high on the lagoon, a characteristic and delightful ‘hut’ where the most traditional recipes of the region can be discovered.
The infinity swimming pool is “lowered” into the sea, in front of the restaurant. In the evening, the illumination creates a suggestive play of lights which pleasantly accompanies a candle light dinner.
