Raja Ampat has recently been discovered by scientists to house the world’s richest reef systems. The group of islands situated on the equator, is part of Papua and counts more than 600 islands. Today while the area is still pretty much unknown and unexplored owing to its size, what we do know is that these islands harbour an amazing diversity of breathtaking underwater life.
The Raja Ampat island group spreads out over a huge area; the four largest islands are Waigeo, Batanta, Salawati and Misool and are located at the west side of the “Birdhead Peninsula” in New Guinea. The Indonesian province Papua is the western half of the island of New Guinea, while Papua New Guinea is the eastern half.

Dive the Richest Reefs – Itinerary & Cost
- Dec 21: Board MV Odyssea 1 by 0900 hours at Sorong (time permitting, 02 to 03 dives including night dive)
- Dec 22: Raja Ampat x 04 dives including night dive
- Dec 23: Raja Ampat x 04 dives including night dive
- Dec 24: Raja Ampat x 04 dives including night dive
- Dec 25: Raja Ampat x 04 dives including night dive
- Dec 26: Raja Ampat x 02 dives (time permitting and limited by dive computer NO fly restrictions)
- Dec 27: Disembark MV Odyssea 1 at 0700 hours followed by transfer to Sorong airport
*Sorong = gateway airport to Irian Jaya
Dive Package Cost ex-Sorong
- US$1770 per diver
- Deposit of US$500 is required to secure a spot on the trip. The balance payment must be made by Oct 01, 2008.
- Single diver joining in must be prepared to twin-share.
Dive Package Cost Includes
- Return airport transfers at Sorong
- 06 nights onboard the MV Odyssea 1
- 03 meals a day including refreshments throughout the day
- Up to 04 guided dives per day (except arrival/departure days, and subject to dive computer no-fly restrictions)
Dive Package Cost Excludes
- All flights and airport taxes in/out of Sorong
- Indonesian Visa, where applicable
- Fuel surcharge of US$ 120 per person (subject to change)
- Port fees of US$ 30 per person

- Raja Ampat Marine Park Fee of US$55 per diver
